Our History
In 1959, Peter Cervelli founded Trius as a local machine shop in Hicksville, NY. Over the past seven decades, under the guidance of three generations of Cervelli’s, Trius has grown to become one of the largest municipal equipment suppliers in the Northeast, specializing in the sale and support of truck-chassis mounted equipment for the Smart Waste, Environmental, Snow & Ice Control, Utility, Roadway Maintenance and Airport sectors.
1959
Patriarch founded the Company as a machine shop fixing and designing parts for large fleet owners.
1962
Recognized municipal market as good opportunity – problem solver - repeat customers.
1962-1980
Steady growth of business based on exceptional quality & service.
1989
Expansion into New Jersey to serve large municipalities and State Transportation department.
1993
Moved into larger headquarters in eastern Long Island.
1990s
Business transitions to Founder’s two children.
2004
Expands Bohemia Facility to include larger maintenance facility.
2010
Opens facility in the Capital Region of New York.
2016
Opens facility in eastern PA to better serve the needs of large city and state customers.
2020-2021
Continued Expansion in Mid-Atlantic region.
2022
Largest dealer of heavy equipment in NY – Mid-Atlantic region.
2024
New vendor relationships focused on the utility sector.
2026
National Distribution Agreement in “Smart Waste Management Solutions”.
